SAA A346 To GRU Daily

South African Airways will introduce the A340-600 on its route JNB-GRU daily as of 1 May/05.

The flights will have capacity for 291 seats in economy, and 42 in business class [with SA new lie-flat business product].

Currently SAA uses the A343 on its daily flights JNB-GRU; the new flight will represent an increase in capacity of about 20%.

SAA currently 7 A346's with 2 more due to arrive before May 2005.

Last week when I checked the schedules on flysaa.com, I noticed that SAA will also be placing B744's onto a few flights to GRU in April. This might have changed with the recent arrival of its 4th A343. (which at this point we are not sure is going into service with SAA or be leased out to Jet Airways!)

Very interesting, and tks for the info. GRU is one of SA's major markets, and one of the best performing markets on business class.
