I was speaking to a couple of friends of mine at US today, and they said that US will be adding twice-daily service between MSY and FLL in June. Nothing is uploaded into Sabre yet. They said apparently they are looking at flying it with mainline aircraft. I'd put some validity into the route starting, but nothing's set in stone until we see it in the computer of course. It would be great for US to give WN some much needed competition on the route. Perhaps they can have the flights continue on to some Central American/Caribbean destinations, just like what AA does with their MSY-MIA flights...usually two out of the three flights continue onto international destinations.
Next trip 6/12 - 6/15: MSY-SEA on AS, SEA-LAX on VX, LAX-N.O on Amtrak

I would love to go to MSY but I know a lot of people will be pissed if they start using a 737 on this route after just pulling the plug on some of the Latin American destinations. So I hope it's a 319 but using a ERJ could be a good move as well.
