Effective immediately Hooters Air has pulled all Coke products from our aircraft and we are serving Pepsi. Mr. Brooks wants what he serves in his resturants on his aircraft.

Pepsi has been and is very agressive at undercutting Coke. Even if a carrier saves 1 cent on every can, talk about a huge savings at the end of the year.

Ok, check off another airline that is annoying me. Since when have Hooters restaurants been serving pepsi? I guess it is just iced tea when I go in.

Don't worry. Once CO starts its Cali and/or Medellin service, there will be plenty of Coke in the air.  duck

There's already enough passing through EWR, I'm not sure if that will have much of an impact.  Wink

Guess they're not interested in serving Atlanta anymore.

I saw this coming and should have clarified... I was referring to the recent trafficking bust with CO employees at EWR, not a dig on Colombians.

Jonty,

On a nice hot summer day here in the desert southwest, a glass of cold ice tea can hit the spot! Try it some time..you may like it......Hot tea for this YANK should have nothing in it! (G)

Coke (all soda) tastes very different in other countries than how it tastes here in the U.S. Especially Diet coke - which in Asia (and Europe I believe) its called 'CocaCola Lite', which is just yuk.

No problem, I even make fun of it myself but it was good that you clarified. Thanks!
I didn't know about the CO trafficking bust! (the last I had seen was AA's at MIA)

Basically in the US, soda is sweetened with high fructose corn syrup. This is due to protections on the US sugar industry that make it cost twice the world price. Most soda is sweetened with sugar in the rest of the world. "Mexican Coke" i.e. Coke bottle in Mexico is a catch in the southwest US because it has real sugar in it. Coke, to protect the US bottelers, is trying to keep it out of the US. Cnadian Coke may be sucrose, not HFCS, but I'm not sure.
