I'm wondering what online/software type of flight trackers people use. Is there one that you can get that if an a/c is flying overhead, I could go to my flight tracker and it would show me what type, operator, etc? I'd like to get a good one, just don't know whats out there besides the free ones I've found on the net.

I use the passur flight tracker a lot, as it shows all traffic overhead and the flight details, and you can go back into the history pretty far. The one catch is that it only works with 80 miles or so of its supported airports, but I live near EWR, so it works for me. It says on your profile you live in Minnesota, so it doesn't look like it will help you much. Anyway, here's all the airports you can monitor for free on their site:

I use AirNav Live Flight Tracker 6, I love it. Great GUI, up to date info, nice ways of sorting what you see on the map, and it works for all of the US.
