The SWA announcement says they will vacate Terminal "B"... Who will now go into B at Sky Harbor?

Dbba

Right now they are sharing the B concourse in Terminal 4 with America West, I think Southwest has 4 gates in B if I remember right. After the move tomorrow, America West will have the A and B concourses and Southwest will have the C and D councourses.

Here's their release about their new concourse in Phoenix.

Any chance of ATA moving in with WN at PHX? Last I read on the forum regarding the issue it was still being "discussed".

Wow -- two stops from ISP to HNL for as low as $249 one-way. Not bad.

The start-up date for LAS-HNL has been pushed back for a short time until there are gates made available for ATA in the same concourse as SWA. It may also be just intime for the 737 ETOPS approval to make things easier as far as yeild goes.

YAY, finally ATA will be in Terminal 1. O/T: Will it be in Concourse B or C, since WN will be taking some B Gates soon?

Whoever said that WN was a white trash carrier was dead wrong. This is awesome that they are doing it. Hope to see their metal at HNL in the future. What is the chance of that happening down the road?

Regards.

Not good, as ATA is doing all the overwater and intl. ops for them.

These additions to both airlines schedule will really make a difference. I hope that they can make this codeshare work all the way to Europe!

I'm glad to see it, too. Although I had hoped WN would go international on their own, but with ATA I think they have a good thing going here. I have to say the one that probably benefits most, to my eyes, is ATA. I was afraid there for a while that they'd go belly up in a few years. Correct me if I am wrong, but this may be the thing that saves them.

This should really help ATA stay afloat with this. They will need more of their own schedules to help for example they may add a PHX-MEX flight or PHX-SJU to complement the schedule. Nothing crazy but enough to even out A/C utilization and increase yield.

From the words of Gary Kelly.

Q: It has been a month since the code-share agreement with ATA began. How is it going? (Under a code-sharing agreement, passengers make part of a trip on one airline and part on another but use a single ticket. The airline announced Monday that it has added Phoenix as a connecting hub for code-share flights from other cities to Hawaii. Chicago had been the only connecting hub for these flights.)

A: It's going excellent. We're booking the volume that we hoped to book. Hopefully, it will only grow from here, and the fact that we're adding connections in Phoenix should obviously improve our prospects. We're very excited about it.

Q: A lot of Southwest frequent fliers are anxious to use their free travel to go to Hawaii on ATA. Is that something you're still working on?

A: It's a stay-tuned question, still. The first thing we wanted to do was block and tackle and make sure that we could connect passengers and bags. So far, we've been very pleased with that. We'll review that (frequent-flier reciprocity) later this year.

In the past year Southwest has taken some huge steps in terms of breaking it's "mold" by going into PHL and PIT, and now the codeshare deal. I wonder what will be next? The next customer for the 787?  hot

They are moving into terminal D with us.. the two gates at the end of the concourse will be repainted with 2 safety zones.. one for a 757 and one for a 73G.

Maintain 2300 until Boiler, cleared for the VOR-A approach, report BATLE inbound..

I know that Gray Kelly had said at the message in OAK that WN had already made 1.2 million within the first 3 weeks of the code-share deal...Not to shabby if you ask me...Can only get better from there with this expansion opening up in PHX...
