LH A-321 In Retro Colors - Any Info?

Hello.

This year Lufthansa celebrates it's 50th birthday and therefore a special anniversary flight is planned. Routing will be HAM-DUS-FRA-MUC. Some rumors say that LH will paint an Airbus A 321-100 in retro colors of 1955. Is that true? Does someone have more info about this? Will it really be the A-321 D-AIRX?

There was a similar thread a few weeks ago but some members wrote that they know from "insiders" that LH will not paint a plane in the retro colors.

Actually would an A 340 look really great in the old livery but an A 321 is better than nothing, I really hope that we will see such a livery!

If this is really going to happen... Wow!

Gotta annoy the "Schrebergärtner" at HAM once again:D

(You need to go through some allotments (right word?) at HAM to be able to take good pics from the LH Technic base...)

I really hope it happens, but the source is not very reliable. Skyliner is famous for announcing rumours as "true", plus the magazine has always been full of mistakes. The current issue's registration section is once again a negative example... thumbsdown

Yeah, and on the selected a/c PTVs will be installed.

According the news the A321 will receive the Metropolitan era paint design (white tail with blue Lufthansa logo, white aircraft with blue cheatline)

Norbert, it´ll be the design on your A333. The classic one from the Starliner and the 707-430, and not the very first postwar-design from 1955 seen on the first Super Constellation. It´ll look stunning, not only because the A321 is the nearest in overall dimension to the 707.

I made this proposal in the LH-internal "idea management", and it was turned down.

I heard it will be the he very first postwar-design from 1955 seen on the first Convair CV 240s and not the one of the 707 era.
I also heard the plane will be at some events :

Friday 1st. April MUC
Saturday 2nd. April HAM
Friday 27th. Mai Berlin probably TXL
Saturday 25th. Juni FRA

It will forever be a McDonnell Douglas MD 80 , Boeing MD 80 sounds so wrong

The PTVs will be on selected seats only as follows: only prime numbered rows can get PTVs and no more than 3 PTVs can be in a single row. In addition, there should be at least 2 non-PTV seats between any 2 PTV seats. Hope this helps. Smile
