Heard the rumor that Comair will announce up to 3 new bases tomorrow? Anyone hear anything about that?

FLL, BOS, GSO, MCO, LGA, JFK??? all seems to be the top choices.. anyone?

Orlando and Greensboro are given, and the others will likely only be known from tomorrow on. It'll most likely be at airports where they have a lot of RON's, so FLL is unlikely, because most flights there are CHQ. Guess it will be a close race between BOS, NYC (LGA or JFK) and perhaps even RDU, because they have at least 5 RON's there.

are they crew or crew and pilot?

Will there be an increase in cities served from GSO now that the Comair base has been added? Or will aircraft just be ferried in for maintanence?

They are crew and pilot bases.

I wouldn't expect a big increase in flights from GSO. Comair already has 17 departures from GSO daily.

RDU already turned Comair down for a hangar, so do expect a mx base there.

Actually, Comair will have a mx facility there.. they did not get the incentives that they were hoping for, but will have a mx facility there... at least that is what I read...

Edit: Additional information...Comair story from News & Observer

RDU still picked up some additional revenue from Comair, Brantley said. The airline will add a dozen mechanics at RDU this spring and rent 1,500 more square feet of space.
