US AIRWAYS ADDS FLIGHTS FOR INDIANAPOLIS 500

ARLINGTON, Va., March 10, 2005 -- US Airways will expand its Indianapolis flight schedule May 26-28 and 30-31, 2005, to accommodate customers attending the world-famous 2005 Indianapolis 500.

US Airways will complement its five daily Charlotte-Indianapolis flights with two additional inbound flights and three additional outbound flights on May 27, 28, 30 and 31, as well as one additional flight on May 26 and larger aircraft on select flights throughout the event. In addition, US Airways will operate extra nonstop service on May 26, 27, 30 and 31, using additional 50-seat regional jet aircraft between Indianapolis and Boston, New York’s LaGuardia, Philadelphia and Ronald Reagan Washington National airports.

US Airways and US Airways Express operate 31 daily nonstop roundtrip flights at Indianapolis International Airport, with seven daily flights to New York’s LaGuardia Airport, six daily flights to both Charlotte, N.C., and Philadelphia, and four daily each to Boston, Pittsburgh, and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Nothing larger than a B757, if that's what you're wondering.

To give you an idea, here's the schedule for May 20, a regular Friday:
BOS: 4x ERJ
CLT: 1x 734, 1x 733, 2x CR7, 2x ERJ
DCA: 2x 733, 1x 733, 1x ERJ
LGA: 7x ERJ
PHL: 1x 734, 3x 733, 2x ERJ
PIT: 3x ERJ, 1x CRJ

And here's the schedule for Friday, May 27, one of the heavier days:
BOS: 5x ERJ
CLT: 1x 757, 2x 734, 2x 733, 1x CR7, 2x ERJ
DCA: 2x 734, 1x 733, 1x ERJ
LGA: 10x ERJ
PHL: 1x 734, 4x 733, 1x ERJ, 2x CRJ
PIT: 3x ERJ, 1x CRJ
