After a near death experience (reminds me of Montreal Mirabel - YMX), Confins airport (CNF) is back in business with about 60 departures daily. Infraero has links to departure and arrival schedules for both CNF and PLU. The only foreign airline operating at the airport is LAB from Bolivia.

PLU will retain 6 weekday jet departures until the end of 2005. PLU has problems. Recently the runway was flooded and flights had to use CNF. The arrivals area is tiny for a 3 million pax/year airport.

CNF opened in 1984 but traffic slowly migrated back to PLU.

For connections the whole thing still sucks. Most Sao Paulo departures will head to Congonhas (CGH). Guarulhos (GRU) will have 3 daily flights on TAM and 2 on Varig. If American served CNF again, that would be a big improvement. But I don't think it will happen. Which means Varig may doing JFK-CNF charters at the end of the year.
