Topic title says it all.

Dutch police arrested 8 passengers of a HV flight from Gerona to Rotterdam. Reports mentions, during the flight a massive fight started when two groups of passengers started fighting when one passenger started herassing a woman in the other group. Police expects that probably more passengers were involved in the fight.

Why would this plane have continued to RTM and not make an emergency landing?

How close to Rotterdam was the flight when this incident occurred and was contained?

Unfortunately I do not know.

Reports I have read do not mention it. However it seems it has been quite a massive fight going on.

This should be an interesting story once all of the details are known. This is going to sound a bit judgemental but I'm willing to bet alcohol was involved. I am sorry for the crew and other pax (especially children, if any were present) who had to witness this.

The reason I asked how close the flight was to Rotterdam is because if it was "almost there" a diversion would have caused the pax even more inconvenience. A diversion would have been impractical.

I couldn't read the news link because, being a typical American, I'm "mono-lingual"(?). Big grin

Take Care,

Russell

I'm not sure if a fight between passengers would cause an airplane to make an emergency landing, as long as crew and pilots are not involved or attacked... That routing sounds like a special charter flight. Italy-Rotterdam sounds like soccer  Smile There was a Monaco-Eindhoven game a few days ago... Maybe any fans?  Smile kidding...

Maybe I should improve my geographic skills... Gerona is not Italy I know! Readed Genova...Anyway some drunk dutch tourists (like german or english or whatever ones...) or soccer fans... makes no real difference after all...

Disgusting! These drunken loutish hooligans should be banned from flying with passports confiscated.

Look at all the British lager louts and football hooligans that cause mayhem around Europe, get their passports off them and burn them I say.
