An Antonov 24 has crashed and caught fire while trying to land along the Arctic coast. A spokesman for Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry, Viktor Beltsov, said 45 passengers and seven crew members were aboard the Regional Airlines turboprop. The turboprop was on apprach when it suddenly banked and slammed into the ground near Varandei, about 1,110 miles northeast of Moscow.
