According to the JustPlanes.com news page:

"[Transpacific] Is a proposed new airline that is looking for approval to operate between Hawaii and cities on the West Coast that have little or no service to Hawaii. Initial routes would be from Portland and San Diego to Honolulu. The airline would use a leased Douglas DC10."

So--what is your opinion on this? Do you think that they'll be able to fill a DC-10 from San Diego (PDX would be able to), or would they be better off with several leased 757's?

Hawaiian already has service direct from Portland to Honolulu... and having taken that flight before, it was reasonably full, but I don't recall it being completely sold out. Hawaiian only operates one flight a day from PDX. Does Hawaiian have the capacity to add another daily flight to compete? I still don't know if there's really enough business out of here to begin with. It's an interesting propoal though... Best of luck to them.
