Despite talk in this forum on Aerolineas ordering or leasing A340s, I have yet to hear or read it in any of the major aviation publications. Drew: As far as the A340 buring less fuel than a 747-200, I would hope so seeing that the 747-200 uses 15yr older technology. Compare the A340 to a 747-400 or 777-200 or even the MD-11.
