I was just looking at a list of airline locations at LGA...Is it possible that only United and American Eagle take up that whole concourse?
United has several flights to Denver, hourly flights to ORD, and a few CRJs to IAD...I know AA Eagle is huge at LGA, but a whole concourse just for that?!

Hard to believe, but true. Frontier and Spirit use to be over on that Concourse as well, but when AA Eagle expanded hourly service to Boston, Washington, and added many more frequencies to Detroit and Nashville - it got a bit crowded over there along with UAL's flights. The problem, as I was told, was the number of people that could be processed through the security checkpoints. Due to space limitations there's only room for two screening lines in the C Concourse which could not accommodate everyone during peak travel times.
Frontier and Spirit are now in the B Concourse and the NY Port Authority built a new screening room in front of this Concourse with 4 screening lines and room for the TSA to perform hand searches. The lines seem to move well with this new arrangement.

Hope this info helps.
jetBlue is also in this area or at least my gate was when I left a few weeks ago. To be honest I found it a little confusing since they share the gate with spirit and their flight had not left yet making a few of us wonder if we were in the right spot.

jetBlue operates a lot out of Gate A5 and out of Gate B5. They are split between A and B.
UA always has a couple planes, at least 5 or 5 planes at a time (during peak time) and American Eagle is a big think in LGA. Have to go to LGA tomorrow to drop off my dad but he is at Concourse D.

I flew United out of La Guardia on two trips the first and second week of March. American Eagle has a few gates out of there, but American Airlines mainline also operates flights, too. From what I've witnessed of flying out of there lately, Gate C6 commonly sees 757's. I know a few New York-St. Louis-Los Angeles runs depart from this gate. The 2:59pm back to St. Louis (555) usually departs from this gate as well and it is an MD80.
Otherwise, American/American Eagle for the most part only has 6 gates in this concourse. The rest belong to United, which seems to operate a very busy out of the end of the concourse. I believe as best to my memory United has five gates at the end of this concourse. If other airlines use them in co-addition with United, I didn't see them in the time I was there.

UA has shrunk to a very small operation at LGA.
LGA is an Eagle hub. We operate out of Concourse D gate D1 and Concourse C gates C1, C3, C2, C4 and C8. C5 and C6 are for mainline as well as gates D2-D10 in the D concourse.
The LCC did not leave Concourse C because of security constraints.
Concourse C actually has the LARGEST checkpoint in the CTB. They left because AA acquired TWAs concourse B and didn't really want the extra gates there. It was too far from concourse D.
As a result, ATA, Spirit and any other tenants in C besides UAL switched with Concourse B gates and AA and Eagle took the C gates.
