Everybody knows but AC flies an insurmountable amount of flights to/from the Hawaiian islands since Hawaii is such a popular tourist destination for Canadians.

AC 43, 47, 33 and AC 57 to Kahului.

In the midst of all that, there is a flight, AC50 bounded to YVR right now from Kona.

Is this a scheduled flight? I might have been missing something entirely but I've never came upon this. Can somebody give me some information please?

According to Air Canada's webpage:
AC50 departing KOA 23:55 / arriving YVR 07:30 / Boeing 767

According to Flytecomm:
ACA 50
departed KOA 12:09am / arriving YVR 7:26am
Boeing 767 / 35,000ft / 609mph / remaining flight time 4:39

hope this helps

Patrick

Thanx Patrick

I was also looking at those two pieces of information. But its awkward, if it existed, why didn't I notice it? Has this been flying for a certain number of months now?

I remember the Kahului flight last year was operated only on Fridays. This year, it seems to be daily as it competes with Harmony.

The only info I can get from AC is that the flight only flies on Saturdays. Thats according to their timetable effective March 18. So maybe this is the first flight. According to YVR's webpage, the flight is early and now scheduled to arrive at 7:07 but doesn't have a gate assignment.

Both Maui and Kahului are seasonal flights ex YVR. Maui has operated daily (seasonally for years), Kona is now in it's second year of operation, operating once weekly.

Maui operated weekly through the low season (May-September) for years, but given increased revenue opportunites and aircraft shortages, it is currently only a fall/winter/early spring operation.

That must be inconvinient with all these routes going so seasonal and especially those once a week flights. You can get there ok but you have a hard time getting back.

Yes, that's the reason that I questioned myself because I checked and there were no gate assignments. I have to check and see if this flight continues for sometime. Oh, and when are the Kahului flights ending? If so, then does Harmony get the monopoly?
