I am thinking of taking a non-rev trip on the first sector of the Singapore Airlines MAN-ZRH-SIN flight sometime soon.
Can anyone give any other examples of bookable hops such as this?? I recently read a Phillipine Airlines trip report on the LAS-YUL route (I think), which seemed another interesting one. Presumably this was the second sector of a MNL-LAS-YUL flight.

Although not on the same aircraft, there is LGW-MAD on certain days with Aerolineas Argentinas - operated on an Air Plus Comet 737-300. This is used as a feeder flight for AR out of MAD. I might consider taking this too.

Quoting Airevents (Reply 7): What is the price SQ would charge you for going MAN-ZRH ?
Are you going nonrev or regularly booked ?
I would go non-rev if I were to use any of the flights mentioned. Even though my airline does not have staff travel agreements with all of these carriers, most carriers are okay accepting tickets issued to another carrier if they are endorsed.

IB MAD-LPA A340-300 twice daily (the later flight can sometimes be a -600!)

Would SQ accept a staff travel ticket ? They do not have an agreement for staff travel with the airline I work for (LH) although in the same alliance. I always wanted to fly on them and would love to do MAN-ZRH if there was a chance.

- There is no FRA-GVA vv on KU 772 anymore. Kuwait Airways changed to a KWI-GVA-JFK vv. with 340 ...
- TG does operate ATH as a turnaround (M11), MAD goes via FCO using 743/744 equipment

are you sure that you have to pay fullfare on ZRH-MAN vv using SQ? I'm sure they had specials around earlier, not sure how it is now ...
One of my favorite 5th freedom segments is SIN-KUL or vv. You can use eg. JL, UL, AI and some other carriers.
The segment with most 5th freedom right seems to be SIN-JKT where you have around 10 airlines flying (KL, LH, TG, EK, GF, KU, etc)
some others:
BKK-SIN on LX
ICN-NRT on IR 74L
PEK-NRT on IR 74L
DXB-DAC on IR 74L or 742
MLE-CMB vv on different airlines including EK, L4 and some charters

I think SQ is well known for not offering good staff travel discounts (even to its own staff), but I'm sure they'd accept a ticket made out to LX or BA if a friendly phonecall is made to the right person on station to authorise it.
The carrier I work for does have a staff travel agreement with SQ, but it may only be something like an ID75. Still, its gonna be pretty cheap. I could just get the tkts issued to SQ, but usually I try and do it the cheapest way and get the tkts endorsed.

Im looking at the CDG-AMS leg on RG for june or july. Also had a look at the FRA-MAD with LA but the only way i can find it cheap is by booking it in germany on a return trip. but might wait until my staff travel kicks-in in september and use that!
Who do you work for Ian? Im at MAN, just started with SAS.

What aircraft types are used on these flights?
ET flies the 757 between FCO and ARN most of the time. The 763 is the other type.

It was actually the LAS-YVR route. The flight goes MNL-YVR-LAS and back. I read the same trip report.

Phillppine used to operate MNL-YVR-SFO, before routing to LAS. This was the cheapest flight between SFO and YVR undercurring AS, AC, and UA. Booked in advance the fare could get to as low as USD138 return with a full meal service. Rpyal Air Maroc used to operate a 747 JFK-YUL that was also the cheapest alternative between these two cities. Avianca used to fly LAX-MEX, but without traffic rights.
Other interesting ones that are currently operating are Martinair MIA-SJO and LAB's MIA-PTY.
