United 847, from LGA-IAD, was supposed to be an A320 but some flight trackers are now saying it will be a 757. Does anybody with access to United know for sure? Thanks.

What date? It's in the schedule as an A320. In the past they've used a 757, too. However, this time of year with the popularity of flying South to warm up, there are many equipment substitutions. In fact, United used a 757 mainline the other day on IAD-MCO, which is usually just Ted.
Fight 847 is the feeder flight to United's late evening (9:00 hour) departures to South America from IAD. Often more than half of the flight is transferring to EZE, MVD, GIG or GRU. Nice that United has the variety of aircraft to meet demand....though I can't figure out why they don't use a 777 or 747 on their South America flights for this time of year (December to April). Fights are over sold and sometimes weight restricted....leaving valuable cargo behind.
