Will Swiss Become A Star Alliance Member?!

The news say that LH finally bought Swiss!! Does this mean that Swiss become a member of Star Alliance?? Will Swiss' agreement with AA continue? For how long?

Yes they will become a Star Alliance member. Until then their agreement with AA will most likely continue.

As I know the current agreement with AA is a wide codeshare: all flights between Switzerland and the US, and on Swiss connecting flights within Europe and perhaps to Africa and Middle East, and on connecting AA flights out of JFK, MIA, ORD and DFW. I expect that they have to give up this codeshare as soon as possible.
