Dulles, VA, (March 22, 2005) – FLYi, Inc. (NASDAQ/NM: FLYI) and low-fare airline Independence Air reported the company has reached agreement with the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA) on a new contract.
The contract covers a period of two-and-a-half years, and includes significant quality-of-life improvements for Independence Air’s 560 flight attendants.
Independence Air President Tom Moore said, “We are very pleased to have a new contract in place for our flight attendants. We applaud AFA for their creativity and professionalism in working through the elements of these negotiations while being mindful of the extraordinary economic challenges our company and the entire airline industry must contend with.”
Vice President of Inflight Services Cathy Bradley added, “The extremely high customer satisfaction ratings we get at Independence Air are due in large part to the enthusiastic customer-first service provided by our flight attendants. Every day our customers call special attention to the excellence of our Inflight team, and we could not be more proud of their performance in bringing the Independence Air brand to life.”
The press release is kind of short when it comes to details. What does this mean for the DH Flight Attendants?
