What's The Status Of LH422?

I just looked up the status of LH422 (FRA to BOS) today (Fri, March 25) on the LH WWW site and it's being shown as expected to arrive 45 mins early (11:43 instead of the scheduled 12:30), however its status is shown as Delayed. I'm confused. If any LH employees on the board could please explain to me what's going on I'd appreciate it very much.

Thank you in advance,

Tony

Posted FLIFO does indeed indicate an ETA of 1143. Possibly some issue with the website, where any deviation from the planned arrival time is flagged as a delay ?

Strong tailwinds perhaps? Could be delayed leaving FRA yet ends up early in BOS

May be there is only ONTIME and DELAYED status and no EARLY status on the web site.

Just my ten penny worth!

Lufthansa's website is showing that LH422 left gate B25 at 10:33 (scheduled 10:30)
Flytecomm is showing her in-flight and arriving BOS at 12:08

I think Gkirk's explanation is probably the right one. Thanks mate!

The tailwinds explanation would be weird though, as going westbound, tx flights usually face HEADwinds...

How about this version: headwinds that are less strong than expected...

Well, it could be the case that the head winds are not as strong as usual.

Thanks to everyone who replied!

Tony

Hello folks,

Indeed the jetstream is a little backwards at the moment ... and has been for a little while now. European inbound flights to the East coast have been generally arriving early (key word: generally!).

For example, the scheduled programme for BOS-CDG is 6h45. The flying time for a while has been 06h30, which does not leave much room for taxi time. So even if the plane leaves on time and has a 20 minute taxi, he's already going to be arriving back in Europe a little late. The average flying time for BOS-CDG is approximately 5h55-06h05.

Bonjour Chef!
