Quoting B747-437B (Reply 4): AI operates LHR-JFK daily on a 744 and regularly have RT fares for online booking that are even cheaper than KU.
Yeh I considered AI, but their fares were about £450. Just read some skytrax reviews on KU, maybe I will stick with EI, at least I can fly from MAN or LPL and connect in DUB, saves messing about in LHR at that time of year!
Unless you are traveling at ultra-peak season where the flights are already filled up, thats an incredibly high fare for AI. There is a "G" class fare that comes in around £300 inc. all taxes that is valid all summer long if your dates have availability.

I have flown on KU LHR-JFK-LHR since the times the B 742s of theirs used to do the JFK runs.
Currently KU flies 3 weekly LHR-JFK-LHR flights with B 777-200s. I would rate the flight as 4 stars. Seat pitch in Y class is 34 inches and feel of the seat is very soft. The configuration for KUs B 777s is not 2-5-2...its 3-3-3...have flown the B 777 LHR-JFK-LHR 3 times in the last 4 years. I would recommend KU as its a nonstop flight plus very cheap fares...dont worry what other ppl say, their meals are good, cabin crew very polite and respectful and overall for 250-300 pounds, the flight is worth every penny.

I flew KU back in 1996 from LHR to JFKon a brand new A340. I can defenitly recommend them. Friendly service, In seat videao games and personal TV etc. I was even able to arrange a cockpit visit during the flight and they let me stay in the cockpit during the landing in JFK as well. Impossible now - I guess......
