Bet you it won't be a long-lasting venture. I would choose the 752 myself, followed by the 763 and then the AB3/6. I would certainly not choose the 747 or M11, for the former will create far too much supply and will mean bad frequencies, while the latter will also create too much supply while being maintenance-heavy.

it wont be a long lasting venture as pe@rson mentioned. majority of pax tp ams are probably for (cough) while london has a good number of gambians in the area. however a lot of cheap charter operate from all over the UK (MAN, LGW,EMA) ro banjul so very tough competition

Next destinations, Suarabaya, beirut, paris, Accra

Will Slok Air use 737NG like 737-800 for the European service. By the way sorry beyond the topic but tell me if anyone know why Keniya Airways is keen to start NBO-BKK-PVG Twice weekly and Air Zimbabwe started HRE-SIN-PEK Twice weekly in WInter 2004. Are there so many Africa-Asia trafffic?

Africa-China trade is continuously on the rise, not to mention the recent opening up of Africa to Chinese tourists. I think Kenya Airways' service will be profitable as they will capitalize on tourists to East Africa and beyond and also on business traffic; they have plenty of attractive connection possibilities especially to Nigeria which lacks a direct flight to China.

Air Zimbabwe, however, is not doing so well with rumours of a 30-50 passengers per flight on its Beijing service. But Ethiopian is doing well and is also serving Guanzhou I believe (sorry if I spelled it incorrectly).

If there is a will, there is a way

As EurostarVA mentioned, China-Africa trade is booming, and KQ's service to PVG is well justified considering the fact that many African business men fly to China's industrial cities on a regular basis (some even have to take trains etc beyond existing gateways such as HKG and CAN) ...

As for Air Zimbabwe, it is purely political and am sure is fully subsidized by the Chinese... China has no issues dealing with countries that are shunned by Western Countries, in fact, it targets them. Air Zimbabwe also flies to SIN because that's where Mugabe's wifey shops  devil

no chance to get a MD11, if there would be some available any Cargo airline they would be convertet into freighters...

747 are too big for the market.

Perfectly a 757 would make the job, or better a widebody 767-200 to coload cargo on the flights...

regards
Avianca
