My God! that's low! and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cool! Would have loved to have been there for that one.
Looks like he's pulling up, just to clear the fence!

My glass is neither 1/2 empty nor 1/2 full, rather, the glass itself is twice as big as it should be.

There was another low pass not long ago there was a thread on it.
Cant remember the thread but it was an Israel airline not sure of the name but that was just as low to the fence as this one.

Not sure if it still happens but when i lived in Corfu they used to shut the road so the planes could land but hey! much more fun if you keep the road open, eh?

Quoting AMSMAN (Reply 7): Have there ever been any accidents at St. Maarten?
Not that I am aware of, at least not any crashes. There was the story of an AF pilot that allegedly clipped the fence twice; rumor has it he may have been fired after the second incident. I suppose these are accidents, since I doubt he meant to hit the fence.
I looked on Google but couldn't find any links to this story. It was out there a few months ago, though, so you may keep trying.

Hardly. but there is a small risk of debris being thrown up and hitting someone.

26 Jetjack74: That place is one bullet away from a terrorist attack.
27 Aak777: I don't think that is possible, however I think it is likely for the wake turbulence to make objects fly around and hurt someone.
28 UH60FtRucker: I am not sure how many of you have seen this video - but I would venture to say take-offs are more dangerous than low approaches check it out! http:/
29 Monteycarlos: It wasn't an Israeli airline but an Israeli Aviation Industries Westwind. And yes, he was low. I'd say about as low as that DC-10, maybe lower. Hmmm,
30 KFLLCFII: THAT IS BY FAR THE FUNNIEST AVIATION VIDEO I'VE EVER SEEN!!!
31 Newark777: What's that supposed to mean? I would think SXM would be very safe, with all the people standing around all the time to notice any suspicious behavio
32 September11: that's very dangerous! I can't believe it......... maybe pilots did that on purpose?
33 ZOTAN: In that case, so is almost every other airport in the world.
34 Notacheezyname: Yes...it's best to dive under water during a heavy's takeoff at SXM. I've been there and it's wild.
35 DLKAPA: That airplane was probably low enough that the sunbathers could have felt the air being pushed down on them as it was deflected by the flaps. Because
36 Notacheezyname: Actually there is a blast but it's not "from the flaps". The engines, at this point, might run about 50%-60% N1 (fan speed). This creates quite a bit

41 Neil49: Sure looks fake to me! Where's the shadow?
42 TommyBoy: maybe it's just me, but that airplane isn't casting a shadow, is it? Looks like a shadow on the fence but it dosen't look big enough for that DC-10!
43 TedTAce: It's there, apparently the sun is a little low, and the angle from the camera is left quarter, that puts the shadow where you CAN see it in the pictu
44 AirRuss: God, that's too funny! I'm so sick of that post....
45 ZOTAN: I sure hope not, wouldnt that be illegal?!
46 JumboJim747: WHat would be the sink rate at that point.? If its any where near normal sink rate the thing would have hit the fence by the time it got to it. No mat
48 Qxeguy: I have heard that people have died at this beach being crushed by the air pressure or drowned by the pressure while swimming. Does anyone know if this
49 Lekohawk: Somehow, a DC-10 coming in that low is a little more intimidating (and makes for a more impressive photo) than a bizjet. Just my two cents.
50 Chicoco: Maybe its my imagination, but it looks like there are gates on the fence near the undrecarriage.Still looks a weeeeee bit to low.Wonder what the crew
51 HAWK21M: Is there any Traffic signals to stop traffic when an Aircraft is on Approach. The A320 in reply 9 could have struck the truck. regds MEL

54 BAW716: In looking at this approach, I see three things: 1. There is no question that this aircraft is WAY too low. Did they see the TCH in the approach plate
