Design freeze must come first, at this point the majority (about 90%) of the airplane will be defined. This will happen in summer of 2005. All major contracts have been awarded.
Some prototype components have already been manufactured. Pictures are on Boeing's website. I assume we will get updates as we did for the 777LR

There was speculation that Boeing might change the shape of the vertical stabilsier, giving it a more "normal" look. Any news on this? I hope they don't: the whole aircraft has a dramatic Batplane look.

I saw a picture in the March issue of Airliner World magazine, it wasn't much but it gave a good idea of what we can look forward to seeing in the next year or so.
