Few weeks ago there was a talking about the possibility of ICN-ORD route, might be asiana heard it, ^^; they applied to Ministry Construction & Transportation of Korea for ORD right this Monday.

OZ will launch this July, 3/w, but no detail timetable is available. Maybe, and I hope, they will use 777 for this route.

Nice. Hopefully they will codeshare with UA. Make some good connections there!

Does UA have any plans to resume flights between ORD and SEL? Anyone know how the SFO-SEL flights are doing? They are still operated with 777s, right? Hmmm...I wonder what time Asiana will choose to operate this flight. They could fit it in around noon or so to fit into United's Asia departures. However, they could use a lot of times and still work themselves into one of UA's banks. I would imagine that they would either do a noon or so option or the late night option to overnight into SEL. Maybe not so much on the second one. In the summer, you would have to leave around 0100 to arrive in Seoul at 0500. I am not sure how many people will want to leave later than that and you are losing any potential feed from UA. So, I would assume an afternoon dept. Are they planning to use the 744 or 777?

If this is true, it's great news. ORD has excellent links to Asia, but most of them are on United and American. It'd be nice to see a bit more "color" at Terminal 5 in the mornings - right now all we have are the daily JAL 747 and Korean Air's 777 or 747 (depending on the season). We lost ANA right after 9/11. T5 always look so dead during the morning hours - a dark-gray 777 would look excellent parked at the gate.

I don't see why they wouldn't, considering they're both Star members.  Wink

I'll have to go down to ORD in July to find it before I head to ATL for college...
