Hi everyone,

I thought I'd start a Coventry and East Midlands movement thread because,

  • Coventry is an expanding Airport and with the expansion process and terminal progress going on all the time, there will be a lot to report about over the coming months.

  • Nottingham East Midlands is a very busy airport, and new things are happening all the time, and as well as expansion like Coventry, the airport gets a mix of a good amount of Airlines.

Here is a place to post information news, pictures or anything else about the Airports.

I have a few pictures from around the Airport which I'll put on later  Smile

    Regards, Ryan

Well, the East Midlands Airport celebrates its 40th Birthday on Saturday 2nd of March, and I may be going down there to get some pictures Big grin

The Airport was officially opened by Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinborugh, and the first passengers to the airport were on a British Midland flight from Glasgow on the 2nd of April 1965. The Airport was completed at a cost of £1.37 million. The Airport featured one runway, a 60ft taxiway and a hangar. During the 1970's the passenger terminal and runway was extended and there was a further £3 million terminal extension in 1986

At EMA waiting for a Ryanair flight to Dublin, I saw an VS A340 doing touch and go's. Pretty sweet to play with that bird. I have photos, but they're crappy quality through glass.

    Hi everyone,

Here in the East Midlands we had a lovely sunny, hot, day today, so I went down to the Airport to catch some rays.. I mean planes!

Nottingham East Midlands celebrates it 40th Birthday today. 2nd of April 2005.
I have given more information about this above.

Very busy day today, MyTravel, BMIbaby, Ryanair and Titan Airways in a short space of time (about 1hr and a half). Sorry about the quality of the photo's, I am currently waiting for a better Camera. I am using a 3 million pixels tourist digital camera. Big grin

    Right then the photo's!!

The was a Ryanair 737-200 today, I must say its a brilliant experience to see the Ryanair land, and the noise it made was fantastic!!

You can just see the Ryanair here:

I am mad about MyTravel Airways, and I was very happy to see this MyTravel, on its way to Fuerteventura!  Big grin

She took off just after the Ryanair 732 landed:

Next up was a Titan Airways 737-300 seen here on Taxi:

    Taking off:

Here are some views of the Airport:

Poor view of departure lounge area:

    Cargo area with MyTravel Taxing:

    Cargo area:

The light conditions don't do the photo's justice, as it was a very sunny day, a bit hazy though.

I may be going soon again, and I'll post the pictures!  Smile

Sorry about the poor quality pictures, but my camera is just not for this kind of Photography, but its better than nothing.

Could someone please tell me what Aircraft that MyTravel was in my pictures. It looks hard to make out, but I think its a Airbus A321. Thanks  Wink

    Cheers, Ryan

    Cheers Jimmi, thought it was.

Some interesting stuff there Andy, nice to see some good movement today at the Airport.

Could I just ask, what's the best day to go to the Airport for Photo's?

I've been told Sunday Afternoon's and Friday's are good for the Charters.

    Cheers, Ryan

    Thanks for the plug Ryan!

From experience, weekdays seem to be a little more interesting for passenger movements. You get things like Air Europa, Futura and some of the more interesting charters.

There is a 2005 summer schedule of the more interesting charters at http://www.goodweather.flyer.co.uk/S...2005%20Interesting%20Charters.pdf.

    Cheers,
    Noel.

    Hey,

I was just in my Bedroom a minute ago and some bright light was coming from the window.

Look at this, I snapped this up outside my Bedroom window.

    What on Earth is it?

At first I thought it was a white blob, but then What it really was appeared:

    PICTURES:

    It was heading Right,

Then it whipped round, and headed left, extremely slowly:

This picture reveals some information of what the Aircraft is:

    Close up:

It looks like a MyTravel Aircraft. And I think it may be a ghost plane, but ghosts don't appear on photo's don't they?

It was only small, and it was lucky I snapped it.

    What has happened here?

    Cheers, Ryan

    Sorry About that,

I was just messing around with my MyTravel A332 model aircraft!

I wanted to see what a picture of it looked like outside, and It produced some weird lighting effects.

No ghost planes after all, just me!
