Today the new AF uniform, designed by christian lacroix. was unveiled to press (tv radio newspapers) in the Palais de tokyo, in paris. I had the opportunity to be there and all I can say is that i found it really great. the show was amazing:
1- models showing AF's uniform since 1950
2-models showing the new uniform
3- af employees showing the new uniform.
simply superb...

Quoting RCS763AV (Reply 8): Well, they are French, and based in Paris, what else could you expect from this world-known to be stylish people. Simply awesome.
I suppose with Christian Lacroix designing the uniforms, who could go wrong?
The French know how to put on a show, especially when it comes to fashion.

I can't believe Christian Lacroix is going 80's retro. Epaulle "pagode" = 1980s huge padded shoulders. The current uniform is so much classier...
At least its better than what they were wearing when I worked for them... Nina Ricci designed italian table cloths for the female cabin staff, and those awful dresses the ground staff wore with AF AF AF AF AF AF AF!

Whats with the bow around the dress? They look like they are dressed up as bloody christmas presents. If I was given one of those to wear, I would refuse point blank.

Actually Alcregular, AF staff (ground and cabin crew alike) are able to pick and choose what they want to order from the various components of the uniform. The only stipulation is that certain pieces must be worn with other certain pieces, according to the uniform manual. But if someone does not like a certain piece, then they are not obligated to order it or wear it.

What's with those horribly big bows? They look like over grown doll babies! Aside from that the uniforms are beautiful indeed! I wish my company would bring out something more stylish for me to wear! Not gonna happen though

From what my wife tells me, bows, rather than belts, are the new accessory for women's suits. I've also noticed some women news anchors with this look. I kind of like it.

Quoting Fkruiver (Reply 13): I'm wondering when KLM-employees also have to wear those uniforms
What we wear at KL now is French too, Nina Ricci and fine. We're not so elegant as the French ladies, our jacket hides Dutch hips very well!
The new AF uniform seems very elegant but so varied. Dark blue, light blue, skirt, pants, dress. Bow, belt, all long sleeves, big high collars, what to wear in summer?

I was worried the U.S. Air Force (AF) had come out with a new uniform and didn't tell any of us about it, I almost fell out of my seat! I just bought the Air Force Mess Dress uniform last year for about $300.

Love it. Absolutely LOVE it. I LOVE The bows. I think they are very stylish. Looks great on the winter darks and the summer grays. AF always has incredible taste in uniforms.

Can't wait for my flight IAD - NCE in two weeks, assuming the uniforms will be out.
Now if only AF would apply the same sense of style to cleaning their planes....

I was going to say they were perfect, but they ruined them with those cheesy sewn on wings. Wings should be pinned and metal, not sewn on and cloth.

You and I were meant to fly, Air Canada!
