Hi everyone, During the Summer Holidays I will fly from Munich to Miami. I will be flying with LTU. My questions are, What aircraft will I be using? What seat pitch does LTU have on that aircraft? and Can anyone share their experiences flying LTU on longhaul?

Hi Cathay744,
Where to begin...Well you'll be flying on the A330-200 and if you want a window seat, STAY AWAY from rows 11 and 18...because they don't have windows! Seat pitch is dreadful at 29" (76.2cm), so I hope you're not tall.
I've flown longhaul with them three times already. On all three flights, the coffee was served almost cold, the food was OK, but after the duty free shopping, the F/A's disappeared for about 5 hours. On one flight, I went to the galley where they were sitting, playing cards, and I asked for a drink, they told me to go back to my seat and they'll come around to bring something. They finally came an HOUR LATER! On one of the other flights, there was a sick passenger a few rows behind me who used the call button several times, but no one came. As I was sitting close to the galley I overheard the F/A's joke around and said if it was important, the passenger will come to them.
But, those are just my experiences, I am sure that some people have had good experiences.

I have been to America 5 times on LTU and all I can say is that the flights have been some of the best ever from any airline. Maybe I have been just lucky, but I am rally critical with the flight I go on and I tell you that there have been really nothing that I can think of to complain about. Which is rare. I have been on 29" seat aircraft and the 330s are not that. Lately they have not been the cheapest and I have gone over on US airways and Delta and wished I was on LTU.

Check out their website. A330-200 = 76.2cm pitch.
I usually don't complain about airlines because I find that you have good and bad experiences with every airline. However, I judge an airline on how consistent they are, and LTU, all 3 times has been unacceptable. But maybe, next time I fly them they'll do better.
Quoting Orion737 (Reply 2): Well consider yourself lucky going with LTU at least their 330s are not configured 3-3-3 like UK charter airlines long haul 330s
Are 3-3-3 seat layouts that bad? I've never been on an a/c with that kind of layout and would be interested to know. The seats wouldn't be any narrower, is it because there is a middle seat in every block? Does it seem more crowded that way?

not been on LTU long haul, but have been short haul with them a few times. Thay are very professional and boss all the UK charter airlines. Reasonable seats, good service.

I had an option on a LTU flight from DUS to CPT but I canceled it later in favor of a KLM flight from DUS to JNB via AMS v.v., not that I think that LTU offers bad service, it was just because I can earn miles via my Frequences Plus (soon Flying Blue) account. Now I have to pass on one daylight flight but the miles are a good compensation.
In the past I was pleased with all my LTU flights (except one), they are much better than Lufthansa and I would prefer them anytime when I have to decide between these airlines (well, every other airline wins when I compare it with Craphansa)!
Interesting, I have my conversion table in front of me and it shows, as you said, 1"=2.54cm but it also shows 1cm=0.3837" (which is the conversion I used...76.2x0.3837=29.2", Maybe my table has a mistake in it?
Regardless...
Quoting Rlwynn (Reply 8): Maybe that 1" is the difference between my knees touching the seat in front of me or not touching the seat in front of me
I couldn't even get into my seat and sit with my knees together, and when the persons in front of me reclined his/her seat, the top of their head was right in my face! I could have their head as a cup holder!
BTW, I'm 6'1", how tall are you? Maybe that's why we have had different experiences.

Yes they would. A330/340s are normally 2-4-2 or 8 across, 3-3-3 is 9 across.
