For the last three afternoons I have seen a 744 at the mid field passenger terminal at YYZ. It appeared to be in Star livery, but I have no idea what airline. I thought when AC got rid of their 744 that would be the last (except BA) we'd see. Can anyone tell me who is gracing our airport with a 744 again?

I saw this too - but didn't catch it landing or taking off.

My guess? Lufthansa:

But it is awefully strange as they usually bring the A346 (or 343) here!  confused

I like British Airways! I'm not sure why, but I do! ;-)

It is my understanding that Thai and Lufthansa are the only SA carriers that have a full SA Logo on their 744's. SQ came close but they, as they have always done, did not rid of their SQ tail-logo.

Thanks,

Matt

It is LH for sure. They are using the 744s for the FRA-YYZ-FRA flights.

My guess it is LH.

My father was flying to FRA through YYZ last week, and his ticket showed a LH 747 both ways between YYZ and FRA. Lucky him. I can't remember the last time I was on a 747, the A340 is not too bad but it is not a "Jumbo"

Cheers,

Thats weird that its a 747 since when I was in YYZ 2 weeks ago all that was coming in for LH was A343's! Did the passenger numbers jump so much in the past 2 weeks that it warranted an upgrade to a 747-400?

So their summer schedule is fully 747's??

I like 747's as much as the next guy, but I was hoping for some A346's!  weeping

For all you spotters in YYZ - you will be able to see an EL AL 744 on 3,16 and 29 of May.
For spotters at YUL, look for El Al 742 in the beginning and middle of May.
Also NYC spotters can see 742 at the same time.

I saw it parked at the infield terminal yesterday (Monday). It was D-ABTH.
