A local Mech. friend who works at AA and I were discussing the AA mini-hub at SJC. He's hearing that SJC-NRT days are numbered. Any of you with AA have some info? Like I said this a a rumor via word of mouth so I'm taking it with a grain of salt.

I thought I remembered reading on this board that AA was eliminating SJC-NRT already.

But that may have been another route, maybe an SJC-Hawaii flight.

I thought the route was doing okay, but there have been rumors the flight would be moved to ORD to have 2 daily NRT frequencies. But that was quite a while ago, and nothing has changed so far.

They did make that announcement but changed their mind. I do remember that too.

That announcement was never made, some people misinterepted the message since it was really about closing a crew base in the Bay Area.

SJC-NRT still keeps on going.

Wouldn't be surprised if SJC-NRT still has strong biz/first class sales thanks to companies in the south bay area / a large local population of asian people. JAL offers extensive connections via NRT.

Then again, it would be quite simple to re-direct traffic thru the new LAX-NRT flight from SJC.

Quite frankly I'm shocked that they've kept the flight considering they started LAX-NRT, and they've pulled a lot of connecting feed service from SJC.

It will be a shame if they pull the SJC-NRT route off..that will be the end basically of any heavies @ SJC. Aside from OneWorld partners, AA will have NO Asian presence from The Bay Area......

There are lots of Asians in the San Francisco/San Jose area, of course there are lots of competitors (air carriers), but none from the San Jose area, maybe they can switch it to a few times a week.

I guess they would most probably feed the pax to LAX, which blows.

The SJC-NRT run is very convenient for moving people and freight to and from Silicon Valley and the Japanese hi-tech markets. Used to be lots of F and C traffic.
