United will re-introduce the A320 to Vail/Eagle County Airport this June through September for the "slower" season.
Vail/Eagle is dominated by 757 service by a few of the U.S. major airlines. UA also serves Vail with the BAe-146.
I've watched the 757s t/o from this airport. . .not only do they have to start from an extreme high altitude, but they have to climb very steep and do an interesting bank to avoid mountains. I have yet to catch an A320.

The 757's impressive performance out of EGE, though necessary for longer routes like the nonstops to the East Coast, is less critical on the short hop to DEN. UA has used not only the A320, but also the 737-300 on that route.
