Lufthansa inaugurated MD-11F cargo service into Fairbanks Alaska today. The MD-11F will replace approx 2/3 of LH 747-200 Europe to Asia cargo flights via FAI. LH has been using FAI as their Europe to Asia tech-stop since 1990.
D-ABCI arrived at 11:15 local time and departed at 12:15, right on schedule, it will be nice to see the MD-11 coming into FAI from now on. This a/c looked brand new, not sure when it was delivered to LH but it was resplindant in the white/grey/blue LH livery.
