Why No VS A346 At LGW?

Hi all,

Is there any reason why theres no scheduled VS A340-600 service from LGW ?

Anyone know of any future VS plans concerning LGW ?

LGW is, by VS's definition, the leisure routes. VS needs the high-density low-seat-mile-cost 744 to get the revenue they need.

April 3rd while waiting for my DL flight to CVG I did see a VS A340-300.

That would be for the LGW-PHC service. It positions down from LHR a couple of times a week.

i think the 600s get used for the Asian routes in particular - Tokyo, Hong Kong and Shanghai - so by definition they would be operating them out of LHR.

They also put the 600 on the JFK route, and sometimes EWR.

The A343 is positioned from LHR to LGW for flights to Port Harcourt and a charter to San Juan.

The 744 is used for all the other LGW routes as there is high demand for economy seats, and less for business class on these leisure routes.
