According to a book I have, "Commercial Aircraft & Airline Markings" by Christy Campbell; the book notes:
Powered by the ubiquitous Rolls Royce Dart turboprop, the worldbeating Fokker F27 first flew in 1955. Subsequently 786 were built up to 1987 when production ceased. The 48 seater F27 is still widely used. It goes on to say... that some changes took place during production, including installing PW125B turboprops, new cabin and flight deck, new aircraft systems and aerodynamic improvemnts. Since the first flight of the improved, version in 1985, 130 firm orders had been placed. A stretched 68 seater Fokker 50 series 400 is planned.
In scanning through the book, the following airlines, at one time operated the F27:
Jersey European Airways

A complete production list and a list with all current operators of the F-27 can be found on http://people.a2000.nl/sverb
I happened to have made a passenger flight on a F-27 in Indonesia two weeks ago (Merpati), nice aircraft but it's getting a bit old and tired now.
nobody has ever died from hard work, but why take the risk?

Here in the US, the last passenger airline operating the F27 is Eagle Canyon Airlines based in Las Vegas. They use them on flights between LAS and GCN (Grand Canyon). Also Federal Express has a large number of them being used as freighters.

Eagle Jet Charter is the last Pax. airlines in the US to use the F-27. Eagle has changed their name to Scenic Airlines after the Eagle Grp. parent company of Eagle Jet Charter and Eagle Canyon Airlines bought out Scenic Airlines about a year ago. Scenic operates 5 F-27 out of Lv and 18 DHC-6 out of North Lv Airport.
