I was just looking at the Grupo TACA route map, and a route I saw stuck out at me. MSY-CUN. I thought they only flew MSY-San Pedro Sula, but now it looks like they fly MSY-San Pedro Sula, and MSY-CUN. When did this flight start?

They haven't flown MSY-CUN for more than four years. The route map is outdated. IIRC, the flight was a LACSA flight, operating MSY-CUN-SJO. They also flew MSY-RTB for a short while, weekly on Fridays.

Thanks for the info MAH. I thought that looked a little peculiar sittting on there, I thought they only flew to San Pedro Sula. I hope that SFO gets some expanded TACA service, but who knows. They got a nice little operation going on down at LAX.

LACSA operated MSY-CUN up until 2001. The route map is outdated, and has been that way for awhile.

The Lacsa flight originally went SJO-SAP-CUN-MSY, for a couple of years TGU was added as a stop, ant the end it was SJO-CUN-MSY. before it stopped in 2001.

I hear you on that one! Tickets to central america are going for double from SFO compared to LAX. Didnt LR have a flight to SFO back in the days? If they did, it should come back...

The flight continues on to SAL

Well, remember, LR is controlled by Taca, so it is in their interests to keep prices out of SFO high

Rojo I used to fly a lot TGU-MSY on SAHSA and I remember boarding calls to Aviateca MSY-MID-GUA service since Aviateca, Taca and Sahsa used to depart at almost the same time and from close together gates in the same concourse.
