There's an article in tomorrow's (Apr. 9th) San Francisco Chronicle about the delayed launch of Virgin America.

With the current market saturation of what seems like a zillion US airlines, does this come at a surprise to anyone?

If SRB really wants to compete in the continental US LCC market, the only wise move would be to try to buy out a number of the current regional LCCs and consolidate them into a national network under the same branding.

Starting from scratch seems almost futile, and it looks like the investors in the circle are realizing this.

I think the question to pose is will Virgin America EVER take off? And if so, will it be before or after Northwest have replaced thier DC-9's?  laughing
