Just saw on the swiss TV news that armed guards were present on all LX flights to sensible destinations.

However, the "cantonale" police decided to remove the guards from the plane as the company is not national anymore. No decision have been yet made about whose responsibility is the safety of LX planes.

coz I'm leaving on a jetplane !

Of course it makes a lot of sense to broadcast something like that, doesn't it? You would thought they could have thrashed that out somewhere behind closed doors rather than making a statement on TV news......some people really need to put their brains into gear before they open their mouth!

I guess this means they won't be on my LX flight to CAI this summer? Yeah, great job LH for broadcasting this.

I seem to remember that the Swiss planes still carry Swiss registrations...

I don't think the fellow Swiss people would be too happy to see people from the German Bundesgrenzschutz on their territory.

Didn't you learn not to believe everything on TV?

1. the company is still swiss owned and based - nobody knows when LH will hold a majority share
2. planes carry a HB- registration, thus making them swiss territory
3. what's your source? anything in writing?

Yeah, great job LH for broadcasting this.

Do you read before you write such a BS?
Where does it say that LH made this policy public?

I also doubt it is a true story as LX is still a swiss company.

I don't see a sense in air marshalls except in providing another job for the mob.
I reckon in strengthen the cockpit door enough has been done.

Cheers
Matt

There is one problem with airbus. Though their products are engineering marvels they lack passion, completely.
