Just wondering how many 732's Delta still owns and do they have any plans to get rid of them or replace them with some other a/c?

Thanks,
Aaron

I believe 48 are still flying.

Ships 301-333 are the 737-232 Delta birds (No Ship 328).

Ships 360-366 are the ex-Western 737-247A's Long Range aircraft.

Ships 372-382 are the ex-Western 737-247's (No Ships 377, 378).

I saw a Delta 737-200 climbing out of AUS on Tuesday. I was really glad tosee that considering the fact that from my house I usually can't see DL. And they are about to start retiring these birds, so I felt pretty good after seeing him fly by!

I checked the computer at work this morning and I show 45 still in service.

Ships 312, 313, 379, and 381 are currently stored in VCV.

Ships 377, 378, and 380 are currently stored in GYR.

Are these birds going to the retirement home to be sold, scrapped, or to be held until they are needed again?

If sold, for how much?  Big grin

I don't believe 377 or 378 are stored. I believe DL returned those to their lessor's.

They all fly in/out of ALB - just kidding! At first I detested them, but the more I flew on them, the more I loved them - especially the thrust reversers!

I've flown on 321 and 327 to and from STL. It'll be a sad day when the little pigs are no longer flying.....

Ton of them still at MDW. Wonder how long they can keep that up in the summer with 6500 ft for T/O.

I'm scheduled for one on the CVG-JAX leg of an upcoming trip. Used to be a MD-88 on that one.

I can do better than that; I was on a Delta 737-200 from CVG to BOS on Tuesday. Seat 16A (exit row window with no 15A in front) is super-comfy.  Smile

You may be right. I was just going by the ship routing in the computer which shows them at GYR. I believe that some of the ex-Western Pacific 733's are being returned to their lessors as well.
