Ah this is a mysterious airline! There's no info about them anywhere. But they are due to start flights to MAN also from May. Do you have any more info or a website?

Funny how they are called BritishJet but are Maltese??

Indeed a strange name for a Maltese airline. They are however registered in the UK. They have a bold schedule of 73 flights in their first month of operations. The aircraft will be Swiss registered. A second aircraft is expected to join by the last week of May when morning flights ot LGW will start.

The first flight will be BJC320 Dep MLA 0610 arr LBA approx 0940UTC. The daily evening LGW flight will be BJC101.

Still no website. The owners used to sell seats on Sabre, Excel airways, Astraeus and First Choice. They are part of the Bargain Holidays Group.

There is only a booking website, identical to the Astraeus website. No real BritishJet.com yet. BJC will adopt the Malta International Airport monthly magazine as their inflight magazine. In the last issue there is a small feature with a photo (engineered) of a painted aircraft. It says that they will operate with two Malta based aircraft and even one based in the UK.

Watch this space.

Quoting LMML 14/32 (Thread starter):
MD90 leased from Hello

Does that mean that Hello are struggling to fill their aircraft?

With so many airlines these days I guess everyone is struggling to fill seats.

I wold have thought the name of their tour operating arm, Malta Bargains would have been a better name for an airline concentrating on runs from Europe to Malta.

BritishJet was officially launched yesterday. First flight, BJC320, departed on time this morning at 0810UTC for LBA. Expected landing time at LBA 1130UTC. Load on first flight was 17. Returning full. Later today the same MD-90 will leave for LGW on flight BJC101, expected landing time at 2020UTC. The aircraft, operated by Hello, is in full BritishJet.com colours.

Even though the aircraft is registered in Switzerland (mistake in the picture description), BritishJet is based at Luqa.

There is no mistake in the caption. Although the aircraft is registered in Switzerland, the airline is registered in the UK.

That's a sharp looking livery on the MD-90. Best of luck to BritishJet!

All the best BritishJet!  Smile

And nice one HELLO, they belong to my favourites. Small, flexible. All the best to them as well.

Is it true that cockpit crews are from HELLO and that f/as are from BritishJet?

Regards,

Yes, the cabin crew are almost exclusively experienced Maltese. All of them have worked with other airlines, mostly temporary flying with Airmalta. Some have worked with Gulf Air and Emirates others with European airlines.

Interestingly, the aircraft arrived in Malta late on the 26th April in full Hello colours. It was then taxied into the Medavia off airport MRO, stripped of the colours, painted all white and had the BritishJet stickers applied. All in 4 days and nights. Nice job Medavia!
