I have seen a few pictures of AWest A230 cabin shots with PTV's. Do they all have them? If so, or not waht types have them? Are they slowoly adding them to all planes. I did notice that the ptv's look pretty old.

Well, a couple years ago I asked the same question, my response (from what I remember) was that they Weren't PTVs...but some other thing that was "being removed" because a few aircraft had them installed. I'm not sure but have you seen the new Seats the HP Airbuses are being dilivered with? They are absolutely beautiful! ITs like flying an european airline lol (that was very sterotypical)

They are left over from something called Flight Link. It was a primative PTV that was black and white that allowed you if you paid to play simple games like soliatere, black Jack, Poker etc. Also allowed you very limited access to internet and was supposed to show flight connections. CO also had them on a few planes including a DC-9!

Any reason AWest decided not to improve on this and instead took it offline?

The company that provided HP with the service went bankrupt and HP did not pursue it any further.

I have also heard that the overhead compartments on these new a/c are bigger to accommodate larger carry-ons?

I try to fly airbus on HP flights because they have those screens that they use even on 1 hour flights. They have this quiz thing where they ask you trivia questioins, time just flys by when you go through the questions.

Ha, I am in Phoenix and I didn't know! Haven't worked one of the flights with those seats yet I guess. Crossing my fingers that I will get to see one of them today. I'll take a picture if I can get my camera to the airport today!

Are you talking about the overhead screens or the 'ptvs' cause those PTVs haven't been active for many years.

Willie is referring to the overhead screens. That's the only place that the trivia is played.
