I personally believe that this livery is boring and is a stepback to the Golden cheatline and the white tail with the black logo. Mexicana had an eye catching livery that just make everybody move their heads toward it (I just saw that with an A319 at MIA). And now the tradition of naming planes is gone... how sad

Yes, names are gone! I'm glad their gone! It was about time! I don't like seeing 'Ciudad de México' in an A318 and 'Buenos Aires' in a B763. You think Argentinas would name one day [in case they name their aircraft] a Boeing 747-400 with 'Ciudad de México'?
More over, names were a total chaos! They were deleted, transferred, some were flying with none. It's highly prefer the old names or name aircraft with the nicknames of respected and retired employee's at the airline!

Anyway it s shame that MX won t be naming its aircrafts any more.
Its been a long tradition I think they have to keep, but thinking differently
I didn t like either the names they were using (ie States and cities with no particular order)
There are so many people that made history in the early days of Aviation when Mexico was a big player in Building Aircrafts and when the first routes in North America were established. After all MX is 2nd Oldest Airline in the Americas.
BTW QA used a very nice names in their ships and AFAIK they are also gone
Funny indeed... not "a" 767, but "the" 767, the flagship, the pride of the fleet, and named "Buenos Aires"... still I would prefer a rearrangement of the chaotic names, and not their disappearance.... it was a nice tradition...
BTW... Ghost, do you know anything else of this plane being transferred to AM??? whatever happened to the A340's?

Yeap. A long time ago that aircraft and EZE route was going to be transferred. BUT this was looong before CINTRA announced their new sale scheme, which is, the sale of MX/QA and AM/5D. Before this decision was made they indeed had plans for merger of routes and fleets., but now that both entities will be sell apart I doubt seeing a transfer or other kind of changes between these two in the next months. I see a secure divorce, thank god all marriage ideas are forgotten!

That 767 should be named "Charles Lindbergh", IMHO. (But, then again, with childish names such as "No Que No?" and "Vamos por Mas" in the fleet, I guess we shouldn't expect much).

Thank God the route stayed in MX, about the 763, still some plans to leave it to AM (the plane only)

Not so glad about they´re gone, they looked good, indeed they were a total chaos, like XA-SHI (Tampico), then to click, now "Tampico" is XA-UCZ (A320), and how about the older names like "Chimalpopoca", "Atlixcayotl" (Actually that was the name of the first MX´s A320 N225RX)

I personally think its worth all the extra effort to name aircraft, but they needed to put the names of the aircraft not just in the back, but in the front where people can see them.
I miss the days when as a child it felt so special to board a magnificent DC-10-30 named Castillo de Chapultepec. I wish that AeroMexico would do that again with their upcoming 777s!
A 777 with the word Tenochtitlan below the cockpit windows would bring a tear to my eye.

It's good to hear that. I knew their 340's are named after female writers, but I thought only spanish ones.

Yep, N380RM (logojet 757), now with the "new" c/s, but they left the chrome on the belly (not gray), about buses, F-OHML and F-OHMI are the ones painted.
About the names, those good old times when they where painted on the nose of the 727´s
