Anyone notice that one of those computer animated 747's had the MD label on it?

BTW, if any of you haven't been to HKG yet, it's worth it just for the airport, though ICN comes in a close second.

HKG is awesome. That special is great too...esp. when it shows the move overnight from Kai-tak out to the new HKG.

Lots of focus on the bridges and tunnels for the airport. Probably half the show. I still thought it was great.

Just caught the last 15 minutes, pretty good. Now if only you could combine that airport with the Kai Tak approach, you would have aviation heaven.  cloudnine

While the Kai Tak approach may have been a spotter's heaven, it also was very dangerous. Sometimes what makes spotters happy is a two-edged sword.

In the first 15 minutes of the show they showed some great Kai Tak approach shots, a ton of jumbos buzzing the buildings in the city. They also showed that Air China that went off the runway into the water.

Sorry I didnt alert anyone sooner. I was watching Myth Busters at 9pm and when it ended they announced something about the Hong Kong Airport, so I didnt know until 10.

I wouldn't call it 'very dangerous'. If this was the case, airlines would not fly there, and certainly authorities would not approve it!

As for the 744 in the harbour, it was China Airlines, and not Air China.....these are two completely different airlines, just like American Airlines is not Air America.
