Officials next month will begin soliciting the first of about 45 bid packages for construction on a terminal between the airport's current runways. Terminal work will start in the summer, with completion slated for late 2008.

WOW.. that is quick! They plan to do the bidding, the ground work, and the construction in 2.5 years? They must got some hard cash on hand.. here at Raleigh-Durham, it took over a year just for the bidding to come to an end.. construction starts in about a month and will last until 2009... this should be cool to see IND move that quick..

It will be interesting to see...the original completeion date was 7/7/07 but obviously that is not going to happen. I believe at some point they are going to discuss what to do with the old terminal once the new one is complete.

I believe this summer! THey can't start construction of the terminal until the new terminal is done.
