I was at IAD yesterday, and I saw a new plane in Star Alliance colors! There are so many paint schemes, I couldn't get a pic. But I'll describe it...
The plane has the black tail with the Star Alliance symbol. The plane is all white. Between the 3rd and 1st door are little squares of each airline. They had to do this because there are so many airlines! It was not UA, but at UA gaites. It was either an A300, A310, or A330.

I think the airlines involved in Star are more interested in commercial gains than worrying about whether they can mock up the liveries of all the Star members on one plane.
Ansett and Air New Zealand have never produced an airline in special Star livery and they've been members for a year.
