All of BA's long haul routes depart from Terminal 4 at LHR, except for Miami, Lagos, and just recently Cape Town. These routes leave from T3 (BAs only presence @ T3)
All of BA's European routes leave from T1, except for Paris (CDG & ORY), Amsterdam, Moscow and Tel Aviv. These routes all leave from T4.
Can anyone explain this. I would have thought that it would have made better sense having all european routes out of T1 and all long haul out of T4.
Are there QF codeshares to the T4 european routes?? But how do you explain BAs presence at T3??

My guess is that most BA traffic to CDG/ORY, Moscow, TLV, and AMS is online stopover traffic. In other words, most pax on those flights will be coming from other international destinations so it makes sense to keep those flights in T4.
as for the T3 move...my guess is lack of space at T4.

I don´t know about the other destinations from Terminal 3, but BA service to Lagos was actually a code-share agreement with Nigeria Airways so that´s why they are operated from this terminal.
