Good morning,

Lufthansa will be operating two sectors between MUC and FRA tomorrow, sunday 24 April, using their A340-600. Just got this info yesterday.

FRA-MUC 17:35-18:30 LH 976
MUC-FRA 19:30-20:30 LH 983

Can also be checked on amadeus.net.

For those who want to try the aircraft without flying to another continent.

Cheers,

Sebastian

Thanks for that interesting piece of information. Unfortunately the cheapest fare would be almost € 300,- (LH 976 to MUC and LH 985 / A320 back) which is far too expensive for flying the A346 just for fun. Sad

the return flight will very likely be a different A346, so that the the FRA-based bird will replace a MUC-based one which will return to FRA.
LH does that rather frequently in order to rotate the fleet. I have been on an A343 from FRA-MUC some time ago. would love to be on this A346 tomorrow, though!

Nope - and don't say something like that when you meet a Bavarian face-to-face...  Wink

Frankfurt is in Hessen, Munich in Bayern/Bavaria - and the direct route between here and Munich is 301km.

But, yes, it is quite a short hop for an A340...

Regards,
Frank

May I ask what is the point for them to rotate the fleet between FRA and MUC? Is there any special reason?

From time to time, they'll want to see every 346 at the main maintenance facilities at FRA.

Actually, I would be more worried about saying that to the face of someone from Hessen. Big grin

I agree, especially since I live in Hessen... but those Bavarians... well... you know... you really shouldn't mess with them, especially if it's about Bavaria ... unless you can run fast enough...  Wink

Honestly, they should change the name of Bavaria to Shiki-Mirkira Big grin. Besides, Hessen can always win in a "my runway is bigger than your's" contest.
