AA New "C" Class Seat..Any Updates?

Long time since we heard about their new business seat, any updates out there ? And also any other US carrier that is working on a new business product.

This is what I heard: AA is in the process of finalizing the design and implimentation schedule for the new 763 J seat. The seat is going to be wider and offer more recline than the current 763 J seat. I am not sure if AA is going to have to shrink the 763 J cabin, though. The first 763 will be modified with the new seat sometime in the January-March 2006 range, and full-scale modification work on the entire 763 fleet will begin in fall 2006. AA wants the six month period in 2006 to test the seat, let crews get familiarized with it, and see how customers like it. From what I have heard, AA frequently flyers who have been brought in to try out the new seat were extremely impressed with it.

If I remember correctly, I remember reading here in the forums, that AA would reduce the number of J class seats from the current 30 to 22-24 sleeper seats. No official word on this, just what I remember reading here.

Thanks for the update, I do hope they get a good seat. I flew from ORD to CDG last month in business class and the seat on the 767 is the WORST I ever had. Incredible that is costs the same $6,000 than BA, that's my next choice.

You obviously have not been on an EK or GF biz seat lately. Absolute crap IMO...

On an unrelated note, are there any active AA'ers out there who have heard whether the D3 embargo for summer trans-atlantic travel will be in force this year? Would love to sneak on the LGW-RDU this summer if they don't... Smile
