Martinair today announced the profit they made and some other interesting facts

first of all they confirmed the rumour of 5 747-400SF (ex-SQ) wich will fly for them starting in the end of 2006, replacing the 4 current 747-200 and 300 planes. They stated that they are happy, since it will be half the cost of what a new plane will cost, and that they are still young


second, they found a 6th 767-300 they were searching for a while. They will base the 767-300 in brussel for the thomas cook flights (2 year contract) so that the current AMS 767's can stay were they are

third, they will only convert 2 of the 7 MD-11's to a Pax configuration this summer, to fly the bussy vacation destinations like TFS , LIS etc. together with the 3 A320's, they will mainly do the europe work, while the 767's will fly over the atlantic mainly (except for the Thomas cook plane and some flights to the Spanish Islands)
