AIR MIDWEST/US AIR EXPRESS: * 15 DAILY NONSTOPS(LIT, SHV, JAN, PNS)
* AIRCRAFT: BE1
That was just basic flight info. for the airlines serving MSY. There will be additional schedule changes in June, so I'll let u know what those are. Also, if I missed a few flights, let me know. Hope ya'll enjoyed this. MSY is a great airport with lots of flights and lots of diff. aircraft. And pilots sure enjoy those stopovers so they can feast on some good cajun cooking.

Yup, I was on a couple of those CO flights. It is not a great airport for viewing however, unless you're on the tarmac like when I met a fellow airliners.net enthusiast named Mark from UAL.
But then again, ANY airport looks great from the tarmac, right?

I believe the America West flight will be a 737-300, that's what their press release said.
Bruce, I'll tell Mark from UA that you said hi. I see him most every day at work. I agree that MSY is not one of the better viewing airports. Then again, I've been here 13 years, so it's all the same stuff to me (except the TAM Brasil A330's and Lan Chile 767's we saw this weekend).

The America West flight is scheduled to be an A319 starting in late May/early June.....I checked the schedules. The 319 will offer more comfort for passengers on the 3+ hour flights.
Tom, were those 330's and 767's in for the CAworld convention, or were they regular charters? Also, did you by chance catch a few photos of those bad boys? I've never seen a 330 in MSY before. That's pretty cool stuff. And do u remember those CO DC10's charters to S.America last summer? That was a nice sight indeed.

For Bruce: Long time no see, hope things are good in Huntsville AL!
For MSYtristar: Yes the A 330's were here for the CA World convention and it was indeed an unusual sight. The crew of the TAM A-330 actually let me go aboard their plane yesterday morning.

MSYtristar: I don't recall the CO DC-10 charters themselves, but I do recall having seen one here perhaps six months ago (IAH divert). AA used to run scheduled DC-10's in here.
Yes I did get some pics of the TAM A330. Mark from UAL@MSY and I were on the ramp Saturday afternoon when he blew in. The pics I got back today came out really well. If you want a copy, e-mail me, and I'll send you one. Mark, lucky guy, got to go in the airplane yesterday.
I hope AWA does fly the A319 in here. There's enough 737's, and the 319's a good looking airplane.
Take it easy.
