BA To Fly 5 Times A Week To Shanghai In The Summer

All,

I've searched the last couple of months and although there are a few mentions on other threads, I haven't found one directly addressing my title. Apologies, if I am incorrect, though.

Just interested in what people think. Personally, although I've had a few issues with BA (especially within Europe and around London), I think this is a great move for them and also for Shanghai and China as a whole.

Also, a quick look on BAs website has a very reasonable GBP 315 return price, excluding tax- a bargain in my view: not that I need to pay to go to China at the moment.

I welcome your views. Also, I'm not sure whether this is a first for BA into Shanghai or not: probably not, although perhaps a first into PVG.

Cheers

Buckieboy

Great news for BA, im guessing these extra services will be flown by the 772?

Are all of BA's Asian 772 routes flown by the RR's, or is it a mix?

How many weekly services does VS have at PVG?

Rob!

I'm almost certain that all BA flights to HKG (3 daily this summer!!) are 747-400s likewise the SIN flights continuing to Australia.
Also a lot of flights to India are 744 and Tokyo (twice daily) I think.

Not good for AY, though, as they were the number 1 choice for London-Shanghai time-wise before BA's move.

AY and ANA rock!

Are you sure about the daily service in October?? And how about Beijing?? Why is it going to be back to 4 weekly in winter?

BA needs to get more longhaulers because with all new flights to India and China it will be hard to meet the demand with the actual fleet...

Next flights : BRU-ZRH-CAI (LX)/ BRU-FCO-TLV (AZ)

For a passenger flight yes, this will be the first time to Shanghai, though BA World Cargo have been operating a twice-weekly 744F (wet-lease from GSS) into PVG from STN for about a year or so I think.

I was answering B742's question (reply 1) concerning VS frequency to PVG.
