I've searched the last couple of months and although there are a few mentions on other threads, I haven't found one directly addressing my title. Apologies, if I am incorrect, though.
Just interested in what people think. Personally, although I've had a few issues with BA (especially within Europe and around London), I think this is a great move for them and also for Shanghai and China as a whole.
Also, a quick look on BAs website has a very reasonable GBP 315 return price, excluding tax- a bargain in my view: not that I need to pay to go to China at the moment.
I welcome your views. Also, I'm not sure whether this is a first for BA into Shanghai or not: probably not, although perhaps a first into PVG.

I'm almost certain that all BA flights to HKG (3 daily this summer!!) are 747-400s likewise the SIN flights continuing to Australia.
Also a lot of flights to India are 744 and Tokyo (twice daily) I think.

For a passenger flight yes, this will be the first time to Shanghai, though BA World Cargo have been operating a twice-weekly 744F (wet-lease from GSS) into PVG from STN for about a year or so I think.
Quoting B742 (Reply 1): Great news for BA, im guessing these extra services will be flown by the 772?
